Are you a new momma? Or maybe have little ones that aren’t so little anymore? No matter how old our children are, they will always be our babies and we’ll be on this endless pursuit of trying to protect and provide the best for them, especially when it comes to their health. And if you’re new to making the switch to a natural, non-toxic lifestyle, welcome to the party!
I started my journey to making this lifestyle switch back in 2020 when the pandemic hit. I was having a conversation with a good friend about the craziness going on with forced vaccinations and so on and she dropped the bomb of… “Do you know what they put in these vaccines?” It sparked a curiosity in me that I now praise God for- seeing the ingredients with the sides affects lead me to the next phase of my research which unearthed the terrible toxins in our everyday households cleaning products ( check out my blog post about cheap & easy homemade non-toxic cleaning products) along with the toxic chemicals in our food, water, hygiene products, and yes, the medicines we take ourselves and give to our kiddos when a headache hits or the dreaded flu comes around.
With all this new knowledge, I felt like I needed to completely gut my house and take a small loan out to replace EVERYTHING- every cupboard, every nook & every cranny! But, with much help from the Lord, He lead me to various avenues like businesses and blogs where I found very simple and affordable swaps- majority (if not all) of them being made with ingredients God made and provided… and here’s a little helpful tip- don’t get overwhelmed like me ( I know that’s easier said than done) replace things as you run out.
Below, you’ll find my favorite natural alternatives from my absolutely favorite company, Earthley Wellness. I hope these products bless your family, as they did mine, and will help you rest a little more easy as you give your family products that’ll do more good than harm.
I can’t say enough great things about this product. This was my first purchase in my arsenal line up! I use this for when my kids, myself or husband are coming down with the cold/flu or during the battle of sickness, I’ll use this for when my kiddos have tummy aches and to help aid with fevers. Here’s some great info about what’s in it and how it helps-
Echinacea Angustifolia root – Supports the immune system, antibacterial
Fennel seed – Calms upset stomachs
Astragalus root – Supports the immune system
Elder flower – Anti-viral, anti-bacterial, helps fever
Cinnamon – Anti-inflammatory, helps with pain, supports stomach health
My favorite way to take this is by making it into a “tea”, as my family calls it. Especially when you’re sick. What you’ll need is-
· Boiled water
· Ginger root
· Lemon
· Honey (local/raw or manuka)
· Feel Better Fast tincture
Start by peeling the skin of your ginger root, I found this process easy by using a spoon as a “vegetable peeler”. Once skin is removed, slice the root and put about 3-4 slices in a mug (more or less to your liking). Slice your lemon and put that in the mug along with 2 teaspoons of honey (I usually eyeball the honey, never really measure 😉). Pour your boiling water over the top, give a good stir, put the directed amount of Feel Better Fast tincture according to age, stir again & enjoy!
For an upset stomach, I’ll put the directed amount according to age in a small glass of water and take it like a shot- usually when you’re feeling crummy with a nasty tummy you don’t want to have a lot on your stomach.
Do your kids suffer with growing pains? Especially in the middle of the night? All 3 of our children did and actually our 9 year old and 5 year old still do- so bad that they cry in the middle of the night and beg for someone to rub their legs, preferably daddy. I had no idea about magnesium and the many benefits it has-
Benefits:
Promotes restful sleep
Promotes normal sleep cycles
Supports healthy blood sugar levels
Supports heart health
Supports digestive health
Supports the immune system
Supports detox
Supports healthy pregnancy
Helps with minor pain
I originally bought this product for my kids’ growing pains but was extremely pleased finding out how magnesium was a powerhouse! This is a MUST!
How I use this is by rubbing a small amount of my kids’ “problem areas” if you will, the areas they mainly get their growing pains, before bed. Or, just rub a pea-size amount on their bellies or feet! Easy as that. My kids always have a peaceful nights’ sleep when using this!
I use this for itchy bug bites, splinters ( hello playing outside with bare feet) and random little “rashy” bumps. Here’s what’s in this little stick of goodness-
Activated Charcoal – absorbs toxins
Bentonite Clay – absorbs and draws out toxins
Olive Oil – anti-inflammatory, soothes skin
Castor Oil – anti-inflammatory, antibacterial
Lavender Essential Oil – soothing, anti-inflammatory
*A little word of caution (cause I learned the hard way)*- because this is made with activated charcoal, IT WILL STAIN if it gets on clothing. Just be aware of that. Still doesn’t stop me from using!
Please go check out Earthley Wellness. I felt like I struck gold when I found their business. They offer a plethora of products from cleaning supplies, body care, vitamins & minerals, herbal remedies, and more- if you’re looking for new skincare that nourishes your skin without toxins to teething remedies for swollen baby gums to detox support if you want to rid heavy metals from vaccines- I’m tellin’ ya, they offer it all!

So, you just made the decision to homeschool your kiddo(s) but are extremely overwhelmed with what to purchase… This post is for you, momma!
If you’re anything like me, you need all the help you can get. Or maybe you’re just needing to hear what other moms are doing in their homeschool to get your gears going- Whatever the case may be, I hope this simple list gives you an idea of what you may need to start on this new, exciting, scary journey!
First up on the list…
1. Know. Your. WHY
Why are you homeschooling? What made you decide to go against the norm and pull your kids out of public school? Was it to spend more time with your children, knowing you’ll never get these years back? Was it conviction? Was it for YOU to have control over what your children are exposed to? You know your why’s… you’ve maybe even made a list of them on a piece of paper. If you haven’t done that- please do. Keep it for those rainy days when you’re on your last nerve, questioning why on earth are you even doing this?! There you go- questioning your why- grab that list and reread your passionate and deeply thought over why’s. It’ll put you back in your place, get you right-minded, and encourage you to get back in the saddle when you crumble and fail (cause those 2 will indeed happen).
Ok, Now the physical supplies…
These are fantastic for organizing each child’s curriculum, workbooks, binders, art supplies, you name it! We also loved having these mobile carts for the option to do school outside or simply in a different location.
2. Printer & Good Quality Paper
Surprisingly a printer is one of our most used items in our home, being done almost daily!
Printers for homeschool students are essential tools that enable you to bring your lessons to life on paper. Whether you need to print out worksheets, educational materials, or project assignments, having a reliable printer can enhance your homeschooling experience.
You will need a good printer that won’t be going through ink cartridges left and right. One option is the Inkjet printer. This has a cartridge-free solution that uses high-capacity, easily refillable ink tanks. So you’ll worry less about running out of ink, and save a lot on replacement ink. The Inkjet printer averages monthly document print volumes of about 125 pages and also offers all-in-one features including Scan, Copy & Auto 2-sided Printing!
Another great option, is the Brother Color Laser Printer. This printer produces fast, high quality prints in both black and color at speeds up to 33 pages per minute. offers low cost output due to super high yield 6, 500 page replacement toner cartridges. This has become one of our most loved items in our home!
3. Laminator
This was actually the first thing I bought as a homeschool mom & I DO NOT regret it! I’ve used it for more than just school also- when we go hunting, I’ll laminate our menu for dinners I prepped for the week so it doesn’t get ruined or lost.
Gotta have this for your printables to put into binders! Pretty self-explanatory 😊
6. Whiteboard
This makes life more easy (& fun for your littles), especially when they need to use it in their curriculum.
7. Pencil Caddy
Make your kiddos supplies easy to grab! Put it on your dining room table or keep in their homeschool cart!
There ya go- my simple homeschool must have list- You’ll for sure need to purchase more but these will get you off to a great start! Happy homeschooling, mommas 🫶🏼

We need to have a talk- Do you know there are toxins lurking in your everyday household cleaning items? In this post, I’m going to give you homemade & non-toxic cleaning swaps you can make right now for a healthier home. And best of all, they’re cheap & easy to make!
I was once you, searching the internet for non-toxic cleaning options after stumbling upon a blog post (just like mine) explaining how our household cleaners contain cancer causing & hormone disrupting (aka phthalates) ingredients. With my littles in mind, I needed to make a change ASAP. I recommend checking out the EWG’s database where you can research almost every cleaning product on the market. From there, you can make the best and most informed decision for your family.
I’ll cut to the chase and get to the recipes but I do highly, highly encourage you to do your research on the benefits of using homemade non-toxic products vs. conventional products. Below, you’ll find recipes to my favorite cleaners. I won’t be sharing any “natural” cleaner swaps you can find at the grocery store- rather just recipes that are cheap & easy to make (with the exception of essential oils) and can be done TODAY, if needed 😉
Homemade Laundry Detergent
· 2 bars of castile soap (any will work- I personally like Kirk’s)
· 4 cups Borax
· 4 cups Washing Soda
Slice your bars of soap against the grain with a large knife. Then, place those pieces in a food processor & grind until they’re as fine as you can get. Then add the Borax and Washing Soda. Turn back on the food processor and allow all 3 ingredients to mix and for the soap to grind even finer.
THAT. IS. IT!
Use 1 tbsp for small load, 2 tbsp for larger. I store my newly made laundry soap in a gallon size glass container- really any container will work.
Bleach Alternative
· 12 cups water
· ¼ cup lemon juice
· 1 cup hydrogen peroxide
Mix together and store in a glass container with lid. Or for a pre-treating solution, pour in a spray bottle. *Peroxide will likely remove color, so only use on whites!* Use 2 cups along with regular washing detergent. It would help to use a soak cycle, if possible.
Dryer Sheet/Fabric Softener Alternative
Homemade Fabric Softener
· 2 cups white vinegar
· 10 drops lemon essential oil
Place in a glass mason jar or any glass container with lid. Shake well and add ¼ cup per load of laundry.
Homemade All-Purpose Spray
· 1 cup white vinegar
· 1 cup distilled water (or filtered)
· 15-30 drops essential oil of choice
TOP 10 most powerful antiviral oils
1. Immunity Boost (Revive Essential Oils)
2. Cinnamon
3. Lemon
4. Basil
5. Oregano
6. Peppermint
7. Clove
8. Eucalyptus
9. Tea Tree
10. Rosemary
Put all ingredients in a glass spray bottle & shake. Done!
*To protect essential oils, use a colored glass spray bottle such as amber or cobalt. Colored Glass protects the essential oils from UV rays, which break down the essential oils and reduces their potency.*
Homemade Disinfectant Spray (Lysol Alternative)
· 1 cup filtered water
· ½ rubbing alcohol (70% or higher)
· ½ cup white vinegar
· 15-30 drops antiviral essential oil
Pour all ingredients in glass bottle, shake & spray away!
*To protect essential oils, use a colored glass spray bottle such as amber or cobalt. Colored Glass protects the essential oils from UV rays, which break down the essential oils and reduces their potency.*
Homemade Floor Cleaner (for wood, tile & laminate!)
· 2 gallons of HOT tap water
· 1 cup white vinegar
· 1 tbsp Sal Suds
· 40 drops essential oils (for the most incredible smell: 20 drops lemongrass, 15 drops lemon & 10 drops sweet orange)
First, add in Sal Suds (which is NOT castile soap, and CAN be combined w/vinegar) to an empty bucket. Next, add in your essential oils and vinegar. Fill bucket with 2 gallons hot tap water, and use your mop head to stir it all together. Use a spin mop to squeeze out extra liquid (particularly for laminate floors) and start mopping!
I can’t wait for you to start making these healthier switches and saving some pennies while at it. Happy cleaning, momma’s!
